[代公告] Call for Paper Proposals: 2016 Young Scholars' Forum in Chinese Studies
About Forum
To nurture young scholars in Chinese Studies and strengthen the network among young scholars in the field, the Institute of Chinese Studies organized the First Young Scholars' Forum in Chinese Studies in 2014. In 2015, the Forum was co-organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong-Chiang Ching Kuo Foundation Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies. Young scholars from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions in Asia, Europe and America were invited to present their papers at the Forum so as to enhance international communication in Chinese studies. Participants presented and discussed their researches on various topics on disciplines of history, literature, religion, art and thought.
The Third Young Scholars’ Forum in Chinese Studies will be held on May 19-21, 2016, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Call for Papers
The forum will invite Ph.D. students (after completing qualifying examination) or Ph.D. graduates with less than 5 years' working experiences for presentation of their recent research output on Chinese studies, preferably related to the 2016 theme of "Late Imperial China: Chinese Culture and Society". Participants are expected to be proficient in both English and Chinese.
The forum will cover expenses for lodging and round-trip transportation for the participants (maximum subsidies: 1000 USD). No registration fee.
Papers will be selected by a committee from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Local faculty will serve as discussants for the selected papers. Publication for selected papers will be considered after the forum.
For application, please submit a 1000-word paper proposal and short biography via our online submission system.
Deadlines: paper proposal and brief biography due December 30, 2015. Notification of acceptance announced on January 22, 2016. Full paper due April 2, 2016.
